How to Apply for a Grant

We’re glad you’re interested in applying to the Vagina Collective for a grant.

Our process is pretty simple: send us an email at vaginacollectivegrants [at] gmail.com with answers to the questions below.

Grants are made on a rolling basis. If we’re considering your project, we may follow up with written questions and/or conduct a brief interview by video conference.

Write us if you have any questions and we’ll try to answer.

Grant Application Questions

  1. Summarize your project in 2 sentences.

  2. Tell us about yourself, what motivates you to create your project, and the credentials and experience you bring to your project. (up to 1 page)

  3. Tell us about your project in detail. What are your goals and how do you plan to accomplish them? (1-2 pages)

  4. What is your timeline to complete the project? (up to a half page)

  5. Provide a budget for your project and the funding you’d like to support your work. Indicate other sources of funding, if any. Requests between $2,500 and $25,000 are ideal, but we will consider those larger and smaller. Your budget may include:

    • Materials – for example: website, printed materials, space rental, advertising

    • Time – for example: reasonable compensation for your time that enables you to do the project, honoraria for collaborators

  6. Give the name and contact information of one reference we may call. This should be someone familiar with your personal, professional or academic work and who is aware of the project you’re proposing.
