Vaginas sometimes hurt.

Why are we not talking about the pain?

The Vagina Collective wants to spur a widespread movement of women organizing for more attention and action on vulvovaginal pain.

We need support & resources for women who are suffering, patient advocacy with doctors and insurance companies, changes to sex education and more. We need help for people of all ages. We need to organize. We need to advocate. Sometimes we need to scream.

The Vagina Collective funds people and organizations changing how society talks about vulvovaginal pain including vulvodynia and related conditions. Recipients include leaders in advocacy, arts and medical education. If you are motivated to make an impact in this field, get in touch.

Our Funding Priorities

We fund projects that:

  • Create and distribute accurate information about vulvovaginal pain and care to the public and/or healthcare professionals

  • Generate open, accurate discussions of vulvovaginal pain and care in education, medical care, mass media and elsewhere in society

It goes without saying that projects must provide accurate health information. We look favorably on projects that are creative, increase the accessibility of information and have broad reach.

We focus on projects in the United States and Canada.

There are some areas that we do not fund, necessary though they are in the fight. Topics we do not fund include:

  • Medical research

  • Medical care for individuals

  • Counseling

Check out the NVA for resources on medical research and referrals to healthcare providers.

Our Grants

Grants are variable and sized to projects’ needs. Budgets between $2,500 and $25,000 are ideal, but we will consider those larger and smaller. Grants are awarded on a rolling basis at the sole discretion of the Vagina Collective.

Projects can be new or existing.

We award grants to various types of entities, including individuals, for-profit companies, not-for-profit organizations and advocacy groups. View selected grantees.
